Camera-based application functions: You can take photos of handwritten mathematical formulas after enabling camera permissions.
Uploaded files: Mathematical formula electronic images (JPG format) that you actively upload.
Photo album (image library) based image access and upload functions: Mathematical formula-related photos selected from your phone’s photo album.

1.2 Associated Metadata:

Timestamps: Time of image creation and upload.
Log information: IP address, access time, service crash reports;

You understand and agree that the above application functions may require you to grant us access permissions to your camera and photo album (image library) on your device to implement the collection and use of information involved in these functions. Please note that we will obtain your consent through pop-ups or similar prominent methods. Once confirmed, it indicates that you agree to our processing of your data information according to the purposes and methods described in this policy.

Furthermore, this Privacy Policy commits to not collecting any other information beyond the above (such as device information, location information, etc.).

2. How We Use Your Personal Information

We strictly comply with legal regulations and agreements with users, using collected data for the following purposes. If we use your information beyond these purposes, we will explain again and obtain your consent.

2.1 Core Functional Services

Formula recognition and conversion: Analyze your uploaded image content to provide formula structure recognition, LaTeX code generation, and other services.
History management: Save your images and processing results on the server.

2.2 Service Optimization and Development

Algorithm training: Your images may be used to improve the accuracy and efficiency of mathematical formula recognition models after anonymization (removal of all personal identifiers and metadata);
Data analysis: Statistical analysis of user-uploaded image type distribution (such as handwriting proportion, common formula categories) to optimize feature priorities.

2.3 Security and Compliance

Risk detection: Scan uploaded content for malicious code or prohibited information (such as virus files).
Legal obligations: Cooperate with judicial or regulatory authorities to provide necessary data according to law.

Respecting user personal privacy is one of our fundamental principles. Except for the following circumstances, we will not share your personal data with any company, organization, or individual:

We may share your personal data externally as required by judicial or administrative authorities.

3.4 Prohibited Behavior

We will not sell your personal information to advertisers or other third parties for independent marketing purposes.

4.1 Storage Location

Your data may be stored on servers in the following regions:

Primary operating regions: Hong Kong/Shanghai, China/California, USA.
Backup regions: California, USA/Shanghai, China.

4.2 Retention Period

User images and metadata: Stored on servers for 3 months from the upload date, with automatic deletion triggered upon expiration;
Anonymized datasets: Data after personal information removal may be retained permanently.

4.3 Deletion Mechanism

Automatic deletion: System scans expired data daily and securely erases it (compliant with NIST SP 800-88 standard).
Users cannot delete personal images submitted to the server; interpretation rights belong to this application.

5. How We Protect Your Personal Data

We have implemented industry-standard security measures to protect the personal data you provide, preventing unauthorized access, public disclosure, use, modification, damage, or loss of data. We will take all reasonable and feasible measures to protect your personal information. The measures to protect your personal data include but are not limited to:

Transmission encryption: Using TLS 1.3 protocol and HTTPS channels to protect data transmission.
Storage encryption: Server static data uses AES-256 encryption algorithm.
Access control: Implementing principle of least privilege, authorizing only necessary employees to access data through two-factor authentication.
Regular audits: Conducting penetration testing and code security reviews quarterly.
Employee training: All personnel must pass internal GDPR and data protection examinations.

6. User Rights

Users cannot independently access and delete submitted data.
Withdrawal of consent: Stopping service use is considered withdrawal, but processed data will still be deleted according to original rules.
Rejection of targeted advertising: We will not push advertisements based on your data.

7. Children’s Privacy

Our products and services are primarily intended for adults. Although the product itself does not involve age-related issues, considering privacy and data compliance, we still recommend that users under 13 (or legal age in their country) obtain guardian consent before use.
